Obituary

Clyde Paul Mealer, age 75, of Morganton, GA passed away Monday, March 22, 2010, at his home. He was a native of the Copper Basin, son of the late Cicero and Florence Walden Mealer, and husband of the late Bertha Ellen Newberry Mealer. Mr. Mealer was self-employed, working as a heat and air conditioning technician. He was a member of Tilley Baptist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary Mealer of Morganton; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and James Euell of Davenport, Iowa, Vonda Davis of Morganton, Linda Denise and David Wilkins of Anderson, Indiana; one sister, Opal Thackston of Royston, GA, one brother, Calvin Mealer of Copperhill, TN, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service were conducted Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Chapel with Pastor Richard Peacock officiating. Music was provided by Lauren Elizabeth Nelsen. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Kinman, Daniel Kinman, Rodney Garrison, Scott Fountain, John Setser, and Joe Setser. Honorary pallbearers were Barry Mealer, Robby Thackston, Tim Garrison, Tim Thanckston, Johnny Wayne Mealer, Mike Huff, Randy Hooper, Billy Mealer, and Charles Fish.
