Clinton Lee (Buddy) McClure, age 84 of Blairsville, GA passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Union County Nursing Home. Mr. McClure was born in Polk County, TN on June 9, 1932 to the late James Blaine McClure and Lena Eliza Haralson McClure. He retired from the United States Army and Air Force. Mr. McClure was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth.Survivors are his son, Lee McClure of Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law, Velda and Larry Pelfrey of McCaysville; brother, John B. McClure of Ellijay; sister, Nancy Elliott of Blue Ridge and grandchildren, Madison and Luke Pelfrey.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Claude Mathis and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music was by Vernon Owenby, Bob Adams and Glenda Davenport. Pallbearers were Rev. G.W. Mathis, Vernon Owenby, John B. McClure, Rev. Claude Mathis, Ronnie Kimsey, Larry Pelfrey and Luke Pelfrey. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
