Claudia Susan Higdon, age 69, of Ducktown, TN, passed away on January 21, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Phoebie Lowery Higdon. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Higdon, Johnny Mae Cearley, Thelma Lassiter, Geraldine Higdon, Della Nation, Myrtle Dunn and Katherine Cearley; infant brother Carl Russell Higdon. She is survived by her son Chris (Shelley) Higdon of Ducktown, TN. and Kim Higdon Russell of Gatlingburg, TN; sister Gladys Prather of Blue Ridge, GA; Grandchildren, Taylor Higdon, Raegan Higdon, Cody Henry, Kendra Russell, Drew Russell and Jared Russell; great-grandchildren, Malliorie Henry, Mackalyn Henry and McKinley Henry; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 24, 2020 from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Janice Reid. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Matthew Ray, Dale Ray, James Cearley, Wesley Cearley, Tim Dunn, John Dunn and Terry Dunn.
