Mr. Claud Parris, age 88, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the Heritage Healthcare of Blue Ridge. He was born in Polk County, TN on December 18, 1920 and was the son of the late Jim and Ella Parris. Mr. Parris was a member of Bethel Church. He was retired from Tennessee Chemical Company as a steel rigger. Mr. Parris served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Guy Parris. Survivors include son, James Parris of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Sue Parris of Blue Ridge, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudette and Johnny Gray of Blue Ridge, GA and Diane and Larry Long of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Ralph Parris of Calhoun, GA and Tommy Parris of Nashville, TN; sister, Pearl Pope of Cleveland, TN; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Jerry Ramsey officiating. Music was provided by the A.C. Kaylor Family. Pallbearers were Trig Parris, Jimmy Parris, Phillip Long, Terrell Ramsey, Terry Ramsey, Hoyt Carr , Chad Parris, and Pete Gray.
