Mrs. Clara Lee Hooper, age 73, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Cleveland, TN at Tennova Hospital. She was born in Cleveland, TN, on February 22, 1947, to the late Charles Kenneth Elliott and Irene Griggs Elliott. She loved her family and she loved the Lord. Throughout her life, Clara Lee Hooper epitomized the virtuous woman, of Proverbs chapter 31, to all who had the joy and pleasure to know her. If her husband and family were required to sum up her life in two words, "faithful love" would be their choice. Clara Lee Hooper led her life as a shining example of unfeigned love to everyone she came in contact with. Her warm smile and hand of fellowship were always extended to the stranger, to the individual in need, to the hurting and the lost. Her unselfish devotion to her husband and family was only ever paled by her love and devotion to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was a devout worker in the church, teaching children, assisting in VBS, helping direct plays, a hospitality worker, a promoter of the Gospel, and she led the Women's Prayer Team in a weekly service for years.Her solos ministered to all who had the honor to hear her sing. There was no task too great or too small when it came to the Lord's work in her eyes. She was a woman of valor, quiet strength, and great wisdom. There was no compromise to God's Word in her and she girded herself in prayer unashamedly, always seeking counsel from her Heavenly Father in all things. The lives' Clara Lee Hooper has touched in her short lifetime will only be known when the King rewards her openly in Heaven. And prepare for a long line, because you never get in a hurry when you were with her, for she made time for everyone, and everyone wanted to be near this woman of "faithful love." She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Elliott and Harold Morgan; sister, Kay Salazar; and grandson, Anthony Mitchell Watkins. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Henry Hooper; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Missy Hooper of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Louanne Hooper Watkins and Tony Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Amber and Travis Sisson, Gracie Hooper and Josh McFarland, Reagan Hooper, and Maggie Hooper; great-grandchildren, Claire Sisson and Ryan Sisson; brothers and sister-in-law, Tom and Anne Elliott, and Rick Morgan; brother-in-law, Louie Salazar; sister-in-law, Ruby Robinson; special first cousin, Barbara Sue Dockery; five nephews; seven nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 18, 2021 from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Elliott and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music was provided by Aaron Allen, J.W. Patterson, Lisa Fields, Missy Hooper, and Kenny Williamson. Interment followed in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release. Pallbearers were Ken Elliott, John Elliott, Richard Griggs, Tully Griggs, Paul Cochran, and Travis Sisson. Honorary pallbearers were Reagan Hooper, Larry Bert Brown, Marion McFarland, Tony Watkins, James Lawrence, Jamie Ryan, Joel Allen, David Allen, James Pless, Frank Bowles, Paul Elliott, Mark Elliott, Doug Elliott, Steve Miller, Jimmy Champion, Elizabeth Long, Betty Carol Allen, Ruth Pless, Debbie David, Margaret Lovell, Jewell Faye Parks, Stacey Cochran, Becky Mathis, Marilyn Bailey, Connie Walker, Audra Hooper, Barbara Bowles, Teresa Dailey, Cathy Cruse, Lisa McFarland, Lisa Mitchell, Kim Moore, Karen Heaton, Brenda Burger, Donna Miller, Pam Champion, Niki Phillips, Selena Webb, Jamie Plummer, Angela Odin, and the nurses and doctors at Tennova Hospital.
