IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher John
Welsby
July 4, 1957 – April 27, 2024
Christopher J. Welsby, born July 4th, 1957 in Colorado, affectionately known as Papa, lived a life as grand and vibrant as the mountains he loved. Standing tall at 6'4 with biceps of steel, he conquered sports like baseball, basketball, swimming, and skiing, but his deepest passion was strumming his guitar, the melodies echoing through his Rock N Roll soul.
In his professional journey, Christopher crafted fishing hooks at Eagle Claw Fishing in Denver, Colorado, and built and plated parts for Private Jets at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, leaving his mark in the sky and water alike.
A fervent supporter of the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets, he breathed orange and blue, embodying the spirit of Colorado sports.
But Christopher's legacy extends far beyond the field and factory floor. As an active senior sponsor in AA, he guided countless souls towards recovery, offering wisdom, support, and unwavering accountability, a beacon of hope for those in need.
His hero, Kelly Turnbow, bestowed upon him the greatest gift - a second chance at life with a kidney transplant, a testament to the power of selflessness and friendship.
In the final chapters of his life, Christopher found solace and love in his faith, embracing Jesus Christ as his savior. He led prayer services and the Lord's Supper at the Appalachian Church of Christ in Morganton, GA, his spirit soaring among the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains.
For 40+ blissful years, he shared a love story with his wife Carol, camping and trout fishing through the Rockies and Georgia mountains, creating memories as timeless as the rivers they roamed.
Christopher J Welsby leaving us April 27th, 2024 leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his cherished wife Carol, his children Crystal, Tony, Alexander, and Rita, his fur babies Haylee and Mr. Miyagi, and a host of grandchildren Dizaon, Jezania, Anthony, Avabelle, and Louie who brought him immeasurable joy. He is also fondly remembered by his brother Mark, sister Donna & Debbie, extended family Robin, granddaughter Tavi, and the entire Appalachian Church of Christ community, where his spirit will forever resonate.
Though he may have embarked on his final journey, Christopher's spirit will forever echo through the Rocky & Georgia Mountains, and his love enduring in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Until We Meet Again Papa fill your moments in heaven, where camping and fishing are a breeze - no bugs, no tangled lines, just endless scenic Rocky Mountain views and a heavenly supply of marshmallows and freshly caught fish! Talk about angling for eternity!"
