Obituary

Christopher William Morrow, known to many as "Chris" and in later years affectionately called "Jolly," passed away suddenly at his home on June 5, 2026, at the age of 62.

Chris was husband to Carmen Morrow and a loving father to his two sons, Christopher William Morrow II and Cleaston Ray Morrow, as well as his daughter, Willow Gabrielle Morrow. Grandfather to Rhoan William Morrow and Rheia Marie Morrow. He was the cherished son of Martha Amburn Newman and Robert E. Newman of McCaysville. He was preceded in death by father and stepmother Cleaston and Hazel Morrow.

He is survived by his brothers David Morrow, Jerry Stephenson, Rob Newman, and Tim Morrow, and his sisters Julia Harris, Tia Hickman, and Fanci Stephenson. He also leaves behind many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Chris was a master carpenter and electrician, a craft he began learning at an early age under the guidance of his grandfather, J.R. "Pluge" Amburn, and his uncle, Russel Amburn. His dedication and skill allowed him to build a successful career as a self-employed tradesman until his recent retirement.

As a pillar of his family, Chris devoted himself to caring for his aging parents in recent years. He was known for his uniquely loving spirit-never meeting a stranger without turning them into a friend. Always ready to take on challenging projects, Chris was a problem solver who preferred to work quietly behind the scenes without seeking recognition.

Chris had a deep love and respect for nature, often expressing awe and curiosity as he explored and learned about the world around him.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
