Cheri Vennette German, age 52, of Epworth, GA, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born on June 30, 1963 in Polk County, TN to Ernest J.M. and Sarah Josephine McVey Jones. Cheri was a kind-hearted person who could always find a positive light in any situation. Her smile and laugh could cheer up the saddest heart. Her goal was for her family and all people around her to be happy. She is a person to be proud of. She is survived by her son, Justin Payne of Chattanooga, TN; parents, Ernest and Jo Jones of Epworth; brother and sister-in-law, Brian & Angela Jones of Epworth; nephews, Josh and Zack Jones; great-nephew, Kyle Jones; and cousins and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Music will be provided by Ryan Norton, Greg Norton, and Michelle Pirkle. Brian Jones, Josh Jones, Zack Jones, Herdis Jones, Al Jones, and Ryan Norton will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
