Charlotte Cook, 75, passed away September 12, 2015, at Hospice of Chattanooga following an extended illness. Her family and friends lost a shining light in their lives. She will be sorely missed. Born in Ducktown, TN, and raised in McCaysville, GA, Charlotte lived her entire life in the area and loved her home. Apart from being a wonderful wife and mother, she was a tremendous cook who fed everyone who crossed her threshold. She enjoyed traveling with her family members and friends, dancing with her sweet husband of 59 years and, most of all, she loved to laugh. Its difficult to think of an interaction with her that doesnt elicit a chuckle or smile. Charlotte met her husband, Joe Kent Cook, in 1954. It was love at first sight, and that love is still strong today. Together, they built a family with four children who are grateful for the love, laughter and respect that has been the model for their own families.Charlotte worked for many years at Copper Basin Hospital as a nurses aide and Physical Therapy aide. She also catered weddings and special events in the area. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her friends. She was active in her church, Kingtown Baptist, in McCaysville, GA. Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Ramona Cook of Blue Ridge, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Christy McClure of Blue Ridge, GA, Cynthia and Gary Gwaltney of San Antonio, TX and Crystal Cook of Austin, TX; brothers, James German of Benton, TN, Bob German of McCaysville, GA and Charles German of Dahlonega, GA; sister, Helen McAbee of Benton, TN; seven grandchildren, Kris, Colin and Keely Hammond, Maggie Lee, Alexis Allison, Casandra McClure and Chloe Cook; four great grandchildren, Anna and Desmond Hammond, Charlotte Lee and Hudson McClure also survive.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Dr. Tom Jordan, Rev.
