Mr. Charles L. "Charlie" Cole, age 88, of Turtletown, TN, passed away at his home on November 21, 2020. He was born in Turtletown, to the late George and Minnie Nicholson Cole on February 20, 1932. He was the last of all his siblings. Charlie was retired from TVA as a Lineman and a member of IBEW Local # 175. His hobbies included hunting and fishing and was passionate about NASCAR and Tennessee Football. He was also a long time member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church. Also preceding him death was his son, Bobby Cole and one granddaughter, Nakita Coleman. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Sara Adams Cole; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jimmy Cook of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Megan Elliott, Trevor Cook, Emilee Cook and Judith Cole; great grandchildren, Logan Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Bryson Cole and Tamrah Hill. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Weaver officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. Due to current health concerns, the family encouraged the use of masks and social distancing.
