Mr. Charles Mitchell Walker, age 67, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Emery and Ollie Harte Jones Walker. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Walker. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Linda Walker of Blue Ridge; son, Shane Walker of Blue Ridge; daughter, Angela Walker of Blue Ridge, daughter and son-in-law Jodie and Greg Rider of Mineral Bluff; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Brenda Walker of Sevierville, TN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Asa Dockery officiating. Interment followed at Chastain Memorial Park.
