Charles "Brownie" Winfred Pittman, Sr., age 84 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at home. He was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1930 in Copperhill, TN to the late Claude and Dueane Della Beavers Pittman. Mr. Pittman had owned Pittman's Plumbing and Heating and Pittmans Florist was owned by both he and his wife for over twenty-five years. He was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church. Mr. Pittman served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was Mayor Pro-Tem of McCaysville for thirty-eight years and councilman of the city of McCaysville for forty-two years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Nell Woodall Pittman; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles "Rudy" W. and Melissa Pittman of Gainesville, GA and Jon "Randy" Randall and Patti Pittman of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Elaine and Rick Hudson of Hoschton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald "Butch" J. and Jenny Pittman of McCaysville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Barnes of Stockbridge, GA, Hildred and Jimmy Smith of Smyrna, GA, Barbara Loudermilk of Marietta, GA and Regina and Chuck Franklin of Smyrna, GA; seven grandchildren, Zach Pittman, Brett Pittman, Ryan Pittman, April Pittman McFarland, Chris Hudson, Matt Hudson and Amanda Hudson Noffsinger and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Williamstown United Methodist Church located at 37 Williamstown Road Mineral Bluff, GA 30559 with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. James Mitchell officiating. Mr. Pittman will lie in state at the church on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 12:00 p.m. Music will be by Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Gardens, Blue Ridge, GA. Pallbearers will be Ryan Pittman, Zach Pittman, Brett Pittman, Tim McFarland, Tony Pittman, David Loudermilk, Jason Franklin and Tim Melton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donny Dockery, Bill Stuart, Bob Newman, Jerry Pack, Tommy Williams, Mayor and Council of McCaysville, Tom Seabolt, Nancy Godfrey, Joy Walden, Richard Wagner, Eddie Massengale, Tommy Quintrell, Mark Melton, Mark Burger, Todd Loudermilk, Brad Loudermilk, and Tommy Ware. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, December 28, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are accepted; memorials may be made to the Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA 30143 or to Williamstown United Methodist Church building fund in memory of Mr. Pittman.
