Charles "Doc" Newell Pelfrey, age 77, of Brownsville, KY, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his home. He was born March 26, 1937 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Charles and Della Brown Pelfrey. He worked on the assembly line at General Motors and also owned Doc and Joe's. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Laverne Vincent Pelfrey, of Brownsville, KY; stepson, James Howard "Bud" Elam, of Brownsville, KY; granddaughter, Nicole McFarland, of Bridgeview, IL; brothers, Gene Pelfrey and Kenneth Pelfrey, of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Lois (Orville) Patterson, of Blue Ridge, GA, Loretta Hedden, of McCaysville, GA, and Frances Thomas, of Blue Ridge, GA.Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev.
