Mr. Charles Jack Patterson, age 74, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on December 27, 2021 in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. He was born in McCaysville, GA on September 28, 1947 to the late Lloyd and Madeline Davis Patterson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. Charles was a truck driver for many years with his last employment being with Mac Steel in Alpharetta, GA. He was also a long time member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church but most recently had attended McCaysville Church of God. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Patterson; and son, Timothy Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Odetta Patterson of the home; children and their spouses, Sharon and Mark Crenshaw of Loganville, GA, Amanda and Marshall Collins of Mineral Bluff, GA, Holly and Darrell Rennels of Charleston, IL and Jeremy and Stephanie Greer of Tyson, VA; grandchildren, Dalton Patterson of Blairsville, GA and Jessica Patterson of Blue Ridge; a host of other grandchildren and great grand-children; brother, Gerald (Rachel) Patterson of Ellijay, GA; sister and her spouse, Linda Patterson Hancock and Buddy Whitaker of Harrison, TN; aunt, Jeanette Dockery of McCaysville, GA; and three nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lamb officiating. Music will be provided by Dewayne Housley. Serving as pallbearers will be: Steve Patterson, Jeff Hastings, Gavin Collins, Marshall Collins, Larry Joe Mull and Arvil Mealer. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Larry Sparks, Dalton Patterson, Carlos Wilson, Bill Bandy, James Harold Griggs and Max Housley. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
