Obituary

Mr. Charles Little, age 72, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, TN. He was born on October 14, 1935. Mr. Little was preceded in death by a son Lewis Little of Atlanta, GA. He was a devoted husband, father and man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandson. Mr. Little had a love of music and enjoyed playing bluegrass on his banjo. He taught banjo lessons to children in the Rural Challenge Program at Ducktown Elementary School, as well as teaching private lessons to students. Mr. Little will be missed very much by all who knew him. He served in the United States Air Force for nine years. Mr. Little worked for Delta Airlines as an Avionics Technician. After retirement, he and his wife Mary volunteered with the "Meals-on-Wheels" program and with SETHRA, transporting patients for dialysis. He and his wife, Mary, traveled a lot around the country. Most recently, they lived in their travel trailer for a year. During their travels, they volunteered at camps for youth, young adults, and this provided the opportunity for them to experience meeting, working and ministering to various groups of people as they served humanity. He was a devout Christian and a dedicated member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Copperhill, TN. Mr. Little was also a licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister in his church.He leaves to mourn his wife of 43 years, Mary B. Little; five step children, Jerrel and Judith, Baxter of Seattle, WA, Karen Barron of Mobile, AL, Karl Baxter of Dothan, AL, Beth Wilson of Cleveland, TN and Rev. Randall and Charlene Foley of Excel, AL; ten grandchildren, John Foley of Excel, AL, Stephen Day of Troy, Al, Alan Foley of Excel, AL (active in the Navel Reserve), Charles Day of Benton, TN, Jason Barron of Mobile, AL, Jake and Kelly Day of Benton, TN, Randi Foley of Excel, AL, Julia Baxter of Seattle, WA, Joanna Baxter of Seattle, WA and Jeremy Baxter of Seattle, WA; a great grandson Elija Day of Benton, TN. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends survive.Memorial Services will be conducted on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 510 Hill Street (corner of Hill and Riverview Streets), Copperhill, TN, with the Rev. Dr. Matilda Dunn officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, P.O.
