The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Charles Leon Hays, Jr., age 75, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at his home. Mr. Hays was born in Glavewater, Texas on December 16, 1935 to the late Charles Leon Hays, Sr. and Jean Alexander. He earned a B.S. degree from the Holy Cross University. He worked as a marina manager, was of the Catholic faith, and was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by two sons, William Hays of Blue Ridge, GA and Michael Hays of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Ellie Hays of Blue Ridge; brother, Pat Hays of Sanford, FL; and two grandchildren, Ashley Hays and Sarah Hayes. Mr. Hays was cremated and will be interred in the National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
