Charles Wayne Hawkins, age 54, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Born on April 25, 1963, in Atlanta, he was the son of Obar Gene Hawkins and Willene Fields Neighbors. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Imerys Marble where he worked as Maintenance Manager. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, beekeeping, and woodworking. He loved his granddaughters and family. He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gwen Hawkins of the home; son, Jason Wayne Hawkins of Mineral Bluff; daughter, Amanda Michelle Hawkins of Canton; mother, Willene Fields Neighbors; granddaughters, Cameron Jensyn Whyte and Kyra Rose Hawkins; brothers, Scott Clinton Fields of Alpharetta, Steven Arthur Fields of Cumming, and Franklin Lee Hawkins of Alpharetta; and sister, Patricia Ann Mullinax of Estero, FL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home. Rev. Nathan Stuart and Rev. Roger Elliott will officiate. Music will be provided by Lora Brown and Sylvia Carroll. Interment will follow in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Graham, Kevin Franklin, Rev. Nathan Stuart, Chester Lewis, Weston Davenport, Robert Edwards, Jerry McGhee, Brian Mullinax, Tim Hawkins, and Scotty Bartley.
