Mr. Charles Beaver, age 75, of McCaysville passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his home. Born in Morganton, he was the son of the late Crawford Walden Beaver and Bessie Ammons Beaver. He was a retired truck driver and co-owner of Beaver Grave Service. Mr. Beaver was a Stewart for Teamster Local #401 and was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Stamey Beaver, sisters, Lucille Craig and Geraldine Pope, and brothers, Kenneth Beaver, Marvin Beaver, and James Beaver. He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Winston and Lori Beaver of Buford, GA, Daniel Beaver of Blue Ridge; his fiance, Nancy McGaskey of McCaysville; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Brenda Beaver of Morganton; sisters, Edith Thomas of Hemptown, Dot Nason of Smyrna and Helen Allen of Tucker; grandchildren, Lance Corporal Chris Beaver serving in Iraq and Tori Beaver; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Alton Towe officiating. Music was by Pug Quintrell. Pallbearers were Bill Craig, Robert Craig, Norman Pope, Steve Christopher, Butch Pittman, and Kenneth Patterson. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Pack, J.D. Arp, Dr. Stephen Treon, Tommy Quintrell, Larry Foster, and Gary Beaver. Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery.
