Ms. Charlene O'Neal Mitchell, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Blue Ridge Assisted Living Facility. She was born on December 13, 1943 to the late Rev. Robert Simon O'Neal and Bonnie Tankersley O'Neal. In her spare time, Ms. Charlene enjoyed going to church, dancing, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Helen Deal, Rev. Edd O'Neal, Willard O'Neal, Carl O'Neal, Albert O'Neal, and Robert O'Neal.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Stubblefield (Mike) of Blue Ridge, GA and April Galloway (Stacy) of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Rev. Melvin O'Neal (JoAnn) of Blue Ridge, GA, Newell O'Neal (Yvonne) of McCaysville, GA, and Ronnie O'Neal (Margaret) of Copperhill, TN; grandchildren, Blake Stubblefield (Haley), Trent Galloway (Emily), Graison Whitener (Brandon), and Macy Galloway; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Galloway and J.B. Whitener; sisters-in-law, Joan O'Neal and Willa O'Neal; and host of other relatives and special friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Lamar O'Neal and Rev. Gary Waters officiating. Music was provided by Craig O'Neal, Rev. Lamar O'Neal, Doris Housley, and Juanette Callihan. Interment followed in the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Trent Galloway, Blake Stubblefield, Brandon Whitener, and Tate Heaton. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 811 West Pierceville Road, McCaysville, GA 30555.
