Obituary

Mr. Cecil James Helton, age 92 of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. He was born in Isabella, TN on September 12, 1917 to the late Orge and Rosetta Anderson Helton. Mr. Helton was retired from Tennessee Copper Company as a copper miner. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and was also a member of the Sweet Gum Lodge #542 F&AM. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Beulah Helton of Mineral Bluff, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Quinton and Linda Helton of Mineral Bluff, GA; Clinton Helton of Mineral Bluff, GA and James and Gail Helton of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice and Tony Horton of Chickamauga, GA, Lucille and Fred Husbands of Waycross, GA and Janice Callihan of Ellijay, GA; brother, Jim Helton of IL; sister, Pauline Marek of MO; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Roy Clore officiating. Music was by Brenda Millsaps. Interment followed in the Sweet Gum Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites by Sweet Gum Lodge #542 F&AM. Pallbearers were Russell Daves, Fred Husbands, Jacob Callihan, Chris Helton, James Pack and James Messer. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
