Mr. Cecil Ervin Harper, age 89, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his home. Mr. Harper was born in McCaysville, GA on February 10, 1924 to the late Otis Ervin Harper and Willie Lee Mull. He worked as a machinist for Van Raalte. He was a member of Blue Ridge First Baptist Church, Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM, and was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Pelfrey and Geneva Henson. He is survived by his wife, Berniece Underwood Harper of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia and Jimmy Boling of Morganton, GA; brothers, Leroy Harper of Dawsonville, GA, Mickey Harper of McCaysville, GA, and Gary Harper of Morganton, GA; and a grandson, Brian Boling and spouse Yaya Han Boling of Marietta, GA. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Parris and Rev. Kenneth Wood officiating. Music was by Linda Weaver, Imogene Stewart, Pam Trusty, and Teresa Tolan. Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Brown, Hoyt Verner, Steve Stuart, James Allen, Rickey Wright, and Cal Dillard. Military honors were by North Georgia Honor Guard.
