Cathy Louise Mahon, age 61, of Blue Ridge passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Cathy was born on July 14, 1960 in Copper Basin to the late James Clarence Parr and Ruby Watkins Parr. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Parr. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Mahon; children, Ginger (Bobby) Dale of Ellijay, GA, Holly (Danny Wilson) Sawyer of Blue Ridge, GA, and Amy (Jessie) Cantrell of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Shane, Katlin, Hannah, Darla, Samma, Coby, Jacie, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Rhett and Sylas; siblings, Jerry (Afreen) Parr and James (Sandy) Parr; and a beloved canine companion, Kokomo. A funeral service to celebrate Cathys life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Cherry Log Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Shane Dale, Bobby Dale, Coby Sawyer, Matthew Crowder, Jessie Cantrell, Patrick Martin, Robert Turner, Danny Wilson, and Andrew Parr.
