Carrie Long Conley, age 84, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at her home following an extended illness. One of eleven children she was born on September 15, 1936 in Fannin County to the late Coleman and Senia Farmer Long. Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but most of all she loved the Lord and going to church. She was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir, and worshiping with her church family. Carrie loved being a housewife, homemaker, raising, and caring for her family. She worked tirelessly at gardening, canning, sewing, cooking, and loved every minute of it. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and spouses, Bunyan and Anna Lee Long, Frank and Reba Long, and John and Charlene Long and sisters and spouses, Betty and Burt Cochran, Grace and Ben Panter, Willy and Robert Farmer, and Myrtle Long. Carrie is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, John R. Conley; sons and spouses, Harlan and Lisa Conley, Ricky and Vickie Conley and Robbie Conley; two grandchildren and spouses, Haley and Ryan Cochran, and John Isaac and Julie Conley; eight great-grandchildren, Maddie Mae Cochran, Abraham Cochran, Boaz Cochran, Cy Cochran, Shephard Cochran, Lydia Conley, Autumn Conley, and Owen Conley; sisters and spouses, Jane and Gene Ledford, Ruth and Bill Hawkins, and Ruby Boone; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Larry Williams and Reverend Jess Posey officiating. Music was by the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
