The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Carol Ann Parr, age 55, of Blue Ridge who passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at her home. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Homer Virgil Ricord and Annah Mae Edwards Ricord. She retired from Levi Strauss Corporation in 1984 after 17 years of service where she was a hemmer. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of forty years, Sam Parr of the home; daughter, Tammy Patterson of Blue Ridge; grandsons, Joshua Patterson of the home, and Eric Ridge of Blue Ridge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellie and Robert Painter of Blue Ridge and Betty and James Beach of Blue Ridge; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. A.J. Heaton and Rev. Scotty Graves officiating. Music will be by The Beach Family and The Scott Graves Family. Pallbearers will be Eric Stevens, Joshua Patterson, James Beach, Robert Painter, Keith Brooks, and Andy Hyde. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Cook and Johnny Payne. Interment will follow in Barnes Chapel Cemetery.
