Obituary

Mrs. Carl Wolford, age 72, of Morganton, GA passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Born in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Olbert Sayers and Stella Maude Sparks Sayers. She was a school teacher in Barrow and Dekalb County Schools. She was a member of Grayson United Methodist Church and attended Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wolford was a member of the National Education Association and a member of the Shooting Creek Basket Weavers Guild. She was survived by her husband, Farley Wolford of Morganton; two sons, Edwin Wolford of Blacksburg, Virginia and Craig Wolford of Morganton; two daughters, Carol Loughman of Lilburn, GA and Annette Pilgrim of McDonough, GA; two sisters, Berniece Key of Siler City, NC and Virginia Mae Sayers of Garden Grove, CA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. John Brantley officiating.
