Carl Worth Spurling, age 74, of Copperhill, TN passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Carl was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late Charlie and Meadie Stillwell Spurling. He was the owner of Spurling Construction where he, along with his son, was a heavy equipment operator. He attended Staffordtown Holiness church and was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Lou Spurling.He is survived by his wife, Betty Harrison Spurling of Copperhill, TN; one son, Randall and wife Virginia Spurling of Copperhill, TN; two step-daughters, Connie Cook of Blue Ridge, GA, Cathy Culberson of Murphy, NC; one grandson, Brandon Taylor and five step grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Brother John Wynn and Pastor John Prater officiating.
