Carl Allen, age 78, of McCaysville, GA passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA. He was born on December 20, 1943 in Fannin County to the late Wade Allen and Ethel Dunn Allen. Carl was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church and he loved his church. He worked for seventeen years on the railroad for Tennessee Chemical Company. Carl later worked in logging and sawmilling. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, especially turkey hunting. He was preceded by his parents and wife, Agnes Ruth Locke Allen. Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Alex Deal, of Copperhill, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin Carl and Tonya Allen of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Stephanie and Justin Starnes of MS, Alexis and Rev. Nick Jones of Calhoun, TN, Alisah Deal of Copperhill, TN, Brittany Jordan of Epworth, GA, Trevor Jordan of Murphy, NC and Brandon Jordan of Charlotte, NC; brothers and sister-in-law, Jake Allen of McCaysville, GA, David and Anita Allen of McCaysville, GA, Calvin Allen of Copperhill, TN and Harold Allen of McCaysville, GA; and sisters and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth Rymer of McCaysville, GA and Darlene and Lucas Burke of Epworth, Ga also survived. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Jones and Rev. Thomas Payne officiating. Music will be by Kevin ONeal, Alisah Deal and Jolay Gourley. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Rymer, Richard Rymer, Eugene Rymer, Jeremy Locke, Danny Patterson and Paul Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church.
