C. M. (Ken) Williamson, affectionately known to family and friends as "Smiley", age 71 of Turtletown, TN, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the Copper Basin Medical Center. He was born in Cherokee County, N.C. to the late Grady Elmer and Alma Picklesimer Williamson on January 19, 1936. Mr. Williamson was retired from Cities Service as a control man at the Copper Sulfate Plant with thirty-nine years of service. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cherokee County, N.C. and attended Charity Baptist Church. Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Faye Williamson.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Kilby Williamson of Turtletown, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kim Williamson of Madisonville, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Danny Brown of Ducktown, TN, Cythia and Trig Parris of Epworth; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Marty Williamson of Knoxville, TN, Dewey and Peggy Williamson of Statesville, NC; sister, Alice Williamson of Tutletown, TN; one grandson, Jacob Parris. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 17, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Donald Weaver officiating. Music was by Rev. Allen Picklesimer and Rodney Picklesimer. Pallbearers were Loy Williamson, Lowell Williamson, Willard Hamby, Marlin Hamby and Tim Gilley. Honorary pallbearers were former employees of the Copper Sulfate Plant at Cities Service, Alley Bruce, Max Bruce, Billy Joe Barnes and Jerry Taylor. Interment followed Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rural Vale Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains, TN with Rev. Allen Picklesimer officiating.
