Mr. Buell "Cody" Thomason, age 39, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Born in Blue Ridge, Georgia, on February 15, 1986, Cody was the son of Buell Coyt Thomason and Kathleen Morris Thomason.

Cody loved his son, Caymen, with his whole being - his son was truly his first love. He enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, playing the guitar, hog hunting, and spending time with his friends. Music was always part of his life, especially hard rock, though he appreciated all kinds of music. Many people may not have known that Cody read the Bible daily. He lived fearlessly, with no hesitation to try anything, and he deeply loved the Lord, having been saved by the grace of God, even if his life didn't always reflect it. Cody had a giving heart and would go without if it meant helping someone in need. He spoke to everyone and made friends easily everywhere he went. Cody loved his mom and dad and cherished his sisters, Yvette and Amelia, speaking of them often to anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his son, Caymen Jace Buell Thomason; and his sisters, Yvette Doby (Duane Hagerman) and Amelia Thomason.

A funeral service to honor Cody's life was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Byrd officiating. He was laid to rest at Salem #1 Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers included Logan Brown, Jamie Lunsford, Joey Jones, Jason Lunsford, Shane Morris, and Zach Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Byrd and Daniel Bolling. Family and friends visited at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
