Bryan Elwin Byers, age 61, of Murphy, NC passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Killeen, TX on November 9, 1961. Mr. Byers always placed his family first in his life, was devoted to them and his neighbors with a willingness to help even without reluctance. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed Beekeeping and gathering honey. Mr. Byers also owned and operated a excavation company for several years. His father, Clark G. Byers precedes him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Tracy Caylor Byers; daughter, Kristin Gayle Byers; mother, Lilli Mae "Sue" Byers, and one brother, David Byers all of Culberson Community; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Keith Mashburn officiating. Music will be provided by Rebecca Mashburn. Interment will follow in the Friendship #2 Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: James Lawrence, Jeff Helton, George Mashburn, James Bryson, Jack Bryson and Rayburn Mason. Tommy Bell and Scott Caylor will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
