Mr. Bright Hunter, age 80, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA. Mr. Hunter was born in Fannin County, GA on August 24, 1930 to the late Harley Lincoln Hunter and Ethel Thomas Hunter. He attended Mineral Bluff House of Prayer and was a United States Army veteran where he served in combat in Korea. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Hunter. He is survived by a nephew, Leonard Hunter of Blue Ridge; great niece, Marie Allen of Blue Ridge; and great great niece Trinity Allen of Blue Ridge. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music was by the Mineral Bluff House of Prayer. Pallbearers were Don Roberts, Ted Weaver, Tim Godfrey, Freddie Thomas, Benny Messer, and Ralph Grice. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park with full military honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
