Brian Edmund Lane, age 86, of Murphy passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1937 in Birmingham, UK to the late Sydney and Lillian Barnes Lane. Brian moved to the United States with his family in 1982 and then, moved to the mountains to enjoy retirement with his wife Elizabeth. He loved the mountains and living the small town life. Brian was known for his cheeky smile, witty sense of humor and the ability to always have the right answer. Brian loved his family and is beloved by them, here in the United states and in England. The family is blessed to have shared in his life's journey and he will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Lane; daughter, Victoria Lane and significant other Mike Johnson; son, Jonathon Lane and wife, Lilly; grandchildren, Heather Eaton, Jordan McNiff and husband, Mark, and Lucas Eaton; and sisters, Gwen Sanders and Pauline Lane.
