Brenda May Burgess, age 81, of Epworth, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was born on May 18th, 1943, in London, England to parents William Albert and Doris Florence Annie Masters. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Wendell Burgess and her son Carl Garryen Burgess.

Brenda is survived by sons Brian (Holly) Burgess, Jeremy (Karen) Burgess, daughter-in-law Lesa Burgess, grandchildren Jordan (Kiel) Motsinger, Laina (Braden) Beaudreau, Nina Burgess, Evan (Madison) Burgess and two great-grandsons, Holden and Merritt Motsinger.

Brenda was first and foremost a born-again Christian and an active member of Epworth First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother (Nana). She met and married Wendell in England where he was stationed in the Air Force. They moved to Atlanta for a short time, then settled in Epworth to raise their family. Brenda retired from Levi's and Department of Family Services in Ellijay. Thanks to her life of servitude and her strong faith in God, Brenda was of great impact to local and world-wide youth, her friends, family, and neighbors.

Visitation was held at Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge on 7871 Blue Ridge Drive at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10th with funeral services following from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Chris Clark and Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Epworth First Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Evan Burgess, Kiel Motsinger, Braden Beaudreau, Steve Cheatham, Chad Cheatham, and Rev. Ken Bennett.
