Mr. Brantley Boyd Sowers, Jr., better known as B.B., age 68, of Blue Ridge passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late Brantley Boyd, Sr. and Vervia Mildred Stuart Sowers. Mr. Sowers retired from Publix Super Markets. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting guns. He was also a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Young Sowers of Blue Ridge, GA; step-son, Terry Kendall of Blue Ridge, GA; step daughter, Teresa Kendall of Blue Ridge; daughter, Crystal Kendall both of Blue Ridge, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Barry Panter of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren and one great grandson; nieces, Candace and Jason Schmidt and Erin and Delana Schmidt. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday October 30th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mann and Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Music was provided by Lori O'Neal, Joyce and Rodney Panter and Barbara Gilliam. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as pallbearers: Jamie Anderson, Justin Kendall, Fred Sowers, Richard Sowers, Randy Green and Mike Anderson. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Jim Hughes, Elbert Rhodes, James Barnes, Barry Panter, O.T. Sowers and Bill Sowers.
