Brandie La'Chelle Thomas, affectionately known as "Doll Baby," age 39, of Epworth, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born on January 16, 1984 in Riverdale, GA. Brandie was a member of Salem #2 Baptist Church. She worked as a Real Estate Broker for Mountain Place Realty. She was a blessed mother, sister, wife, daughter, and friend to everyone. Brandie loved with her whole heart and all her works and accomplishments were made from her heart. She shined with courage, fairness, braveness, honesty, loyalty, dignity, confidence, a spirit of adventure, humor, and love. She lived her life to the fullest and lit up a room with her smile. Her devoted values and personality flooded the community through others that knew of her. What a beautiful person to celebrate the life she brought to many others.
She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James Stewart Neal and Joyce Ann Ellis Neal Miller; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Grace Wood; and sister, Tonya Nicole Wood.
Brandie is survived by her loving husband, with whom she spent the last 11 years with and 8 years married, Keith Thomas; children, Hannah (Avery) White of McCaysville, Bryson Fortenberry of Blue Ridge, Collin Thomas of Turtletown, and Katie Thomas of Yokosuka, Japan; mother and step-father, Belinda and John Petty of Turtletown; father and step-mother, James and Jeanette Wood of Mineral Bluff; sister, Amanda (Russell) Wood; brother, Matthew Wood of Turtletown; step-brothers, Michael Petty of Atlanta, Jeffrey (Lissete) Petty of Murphy, and Jeremy (Jeannie) Davenport of Craig, CO; nieces and nephews, Zachary Plott, Larissa Hughes, Destiny Wood, Forest Petty, Kennedy Lawrence, Alyssa Davenport, Brayden Davenport, and Ethan Davenport; and great-nieces, Calie O'Neal and Paisley Plott.
A service to celebrate Brandie's life was held on Friday, March 17, 2023 from Bethel Church at 7:00 PM with Rev. Doug Payne, Rev. Renny Whittenbarger, and Rev. Randy Kaylor officiating. Lisa Fields and Bethel Church provided music. The family visited with friends on Friday, prior to the service, at Bethel Church from 3:00 PM until the service hour of 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.akinscobb.com.
