Mr. Bradley Michael Campbell, age 35, formerly of Blue Ridge, passed away September 23, 2015. Bradley was born on November 19, 1979 in Knoxville, TN. Bradley was raised in Fannin County, GA and attended Epworth Elementary and Fannin County Middle School. He was a member of the Epworth First Baptist Church since the age of 10.He graduated from Fannin County School in 1998. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2002. As a high school senior, he went to Rostov on the Sea, Russia as part of the EcoBridge exchange program. While attending UGA he studied for a semester in St. Petersburg, Russian studying international affairs. After graduating from UGA he spent a year in Suzhou, China teaching grade school English at the Suzhou International Foreign Language School and adult classes at Harvard Language School-Suzhou.Bradley returned home from China in 2003 and attended Georgia Tech to earn his Master of Science Degree in International Affairs. In 2005 he moved to Washington, DC to begin employment with the International Geospatial Intelligence Agency in the Department of Defense. He worked there for 10 years and was currently completing a three year assignment at the US Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. He had also served in Australia, South Korea, and two assignments in Iraq while employed there.Bradley was a well-rounded individual while growing up in Fannin County. He loved sports and played soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball, and track. He also played percussion with the Fannin County Band. He was a very thoughtful, caring person and had many friends around the world and in Fannin County, He loved to travel and had traveled across the US, around Europe after high school, and in recent years, he hiked the Inca Trail to the ruins at Machu Picchu in Peru. Bradley loved his time in Tokyo and had recently met the girl he wanted to marry, Yuka Ishida. He had planned to continue living in Tokyo after his marriage to Yuka.Survivors include his parents, Mike and Carol Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Andy Whitener; two special nieces, Bailey and Brayden Whitener; grandmother, Evelyn Campbell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Epworth with Dr. Tom Jordan and Dr. Chan Mitchell officiating. Music will be provided by Vernon Owenby and Hal Medlin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers; Gerald Hill, Matthew Thompson, Chris Shinpaugh, Nathan Fitts, Michael Petty, Jamie Campbell, Lucas Roof and Will Mann. Serving as an honorary escort will be Mark Puskar, Ben Prentice, Mark Preston and all former classmates and special friends.
