Mrs. Laura "Bonnie" Sowers, age 94, of McCaysville passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA. Born in Fannin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hiram Wheeler and Susan Pearl Hix Wheeler. She was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Sowers. She is survived by three sons, Charles F. Sowers and Richard D. Sowers both of Blairsville, GA and Mark A. Sowers of McCaysville; two sisters Becky Woodyatt of Ames, Iowa and Dixie Smith of Winfield, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday July 14, at 2:00 p.m. from the Liberty Hill Methodist church with Rev. Charles Black and Rev. Geri Worley officiating. Music was by Jeff Bauman and Phyllis Baker. Pallbearers were Troy Wheeler, Roger Smith, Richard Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler, Eric Sowers, and Nathan Sowers. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
