Mrs. Bonnie Helton McFarland, age 83, of McCaysville, GA passed away on January 7, 2010. Born in Power, WV she was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Beulah Ash Helton. She had retired after many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle. Survivors include her husband, Norman F. McFarland of the home; daughters and son-in-laws, Irish A. and Mike Frey of Duluth, GA, Susan L. Jones of McCaysville, GA and Johnnie L. and Jim Conolly of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Scott Cleveland, Greg Abbott, Rebecca Conolly; four great-grandchildren; step daughter Sandra McFarland of Decatur, GA; step sons Al McFarland of Springfield, VA and Brent McFarland of Grayson, GA; brothers, Raymond (Corky) Helton of New Milford, NJ, Anthony Helton of New Milford, NJ, Hugh Helton of White Pine, TN, Y.D. (Dunk) Helton of Lavonia, GA, E.L. (Joe) Helton of Ila, GA, Douglas Helton of Lula, GA; sisters, Acie Chapman of Gainesville, GA and Dorene Wilkerson of New Milford, NJ. Funeral services were conducted Monday January 11, 2010 at 12:00 noon from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.T. Padgett officiating. Music was provided Mitch and Ruth Chapman and Dean and Charlotte Moore. Interment followed in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Akins funeral home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements. .
