Mr. Billy Huffman, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Saturday January 12, 2008. Born in Fannin County, GA on November 21, 1930 he was the son of the late Jack Hill and Mary Ann Thomas Huffman. He was retired from Good Year Tire and Rubber Company. Mr. Huffman was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Huffman was an avid golfer. He was survived by a brother, Junior Max Huffman of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Ruby H. Lewis of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Sally Ruth Callihan of Blue Ridge, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Rev. Jimmy Cheatham of Mineral Bluff, GA; many nieces, nephews and other friends survived. Funeral services were conducted on Monday January 14, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Music was provided by Imogene Stewart. Pallbearers were Keith Huffman, Scotty Huffman, Steve Huffman, Tommy Huffman, Joe Lynn Huffman, Frank Huffman, Jerry Huffman and William McGill. Honorary pallbearers were all great nephews, William Earl Thrasher, Bobby Thrasher, Golfing Buddies, Ted Weaver and Body Shop Gang and Jimmy Underwood.
