Billy H. Harris, age 69, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on July 24, 2023 at his home. He was born in McCaysville, GA to the late James Harlo and Adale Bandy Harris. He had worked at Watkins Motor Lines as an over the road trucker for a number of years. Later Watkins Motor Lines was purchased by Fed-Ex where Billy retired from in 2018, after nearly thirty years of service. He was baptized in July 2019 in the Fannin County Seventh Day Adventist Church where he loved serving as a Deacon, Greeter, attending Church Socials, playing with his grandkids, and family reunions. He loved taking beach vacations, going to the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. He also was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, bon fires and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Michael Ray Harris, James "Buddy" Harris and Lura Jean Calhoun.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sherry Ann Harris of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Chris Cochran of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Harlo and Debbie Harris, Haril and Dale Harris all of Copperhill, TN, T.J. and Ann Harris of Valdosta, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Watson and Judy Ann and Leon Queen all of Murphy, NC; and two grandsons, Ty Walker Cochran and Cord McCoy Cochran both of Blue Ridge, GA; and special sister-in-law, Shirley Harris of Copperhill, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Valentin Rusu, Elder Mark Cadavero, Elder Rudy Bata, Elder Ronnie Hold and Elder Chris Fannon officiating. Music will be provided by Ashley Hold, Caleb Pitman and Jeremy Pruitt. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Tony Ledford, Troy Jenkins, Israel Santana, Chris Fannon, Jerry Gray and Tony Caristo. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Rick Goss, Gary Pruett, Shannon Pitman, John Veldhuizen, Daniel Chung and Arlond Lott. Interment will follow in New Hope Apostolic Church with a memorial dove release.
