Mr. Billy Joe Bowers, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on February 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Fannin County on October 20, 1947 to the late Joseph Andy and Willie Ledford Bowers. Billy owned and operated his concrete business for many years serving the tri-state area. He was of the Baptist faith and had been attending Glenn Hope Baptist Church. He loved being in the outdoors enjoying his time hunting and fishing. Billy was a talented storyteller and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Claude Bowers and Gilbert Bowers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Eva Lee McDaris Bowers; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Earl and Kim Bowers; grandchildren and their spouses, Kayla Bowers Stanford (Josh), Danielle Bowers Morgan (Rev. Buddy), Josh Bowers, and Madison Bowers (fiance, Nathaniel Garrison); great grandchildren, Presley Morgan, Colton Stanford, Caroline Stanford, Riley Morgan, Cason Stanford, Allie Morgan and Clayton Stanford; siblings, Carolyn and Johnny Cochran, Bobby and Patsy Bowers, Kathy and Randy Godfrey, Steve Bowers and Debbie and Danny Helms; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Hedden and Rev. Bobby Bowers officiating. Music was provided by Kayla Stanford, Rebecca and Craig O'Neal, Juanette O'Neal and April Hedden. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Morgan officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Josh Bowers, Josh Stanford, Rev. Buddy Morgan, Nathaniel Garrison, Jody Bowers, Don Watson and David McDaris. Colton, Cason and Clayton Stanford served as honorary pallbearers. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinscobb.com.
