Billie Loretta Bennett (Tommie) age 94, of Blue Ridge passed away on July 25, 2026 at the Diversicare Nursing Home in Ducktown, TN.
She was born on October 11, 1931 to Henry and Celia Williams Phillips. Tommie was a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell Bennett; sons, Danny Bennett and Jerry (Joe) Bennett; sisters, Louise Sparks, Bobbie Patterson, Betty Toney, Barbara Callihan, Bonita Patterson, and Ruth Ann Phillips; and brother, Henry Phillips Jr.
Tommie is survived by her brother, Donald (Joyce) Phillips; grandchildren, Erik (Allison) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Jordan (Kaylie) Bennett, Rachel Smith, and Reagan Teague; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special caregivers Cynthia Bradburn and Denise Lawrence.
She loved gospel music and old TV shows, especially westerns. She told wonderful stories about growing up and her family. She worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at American Uniform.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Chris Bradburn and Rev. Larry Weaver officiating. Music will be provided by Nikki Bradburn. Interment will follow in the Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Billy Lawrence, Scott Bradburn, Jeremy Bradburn, Colton Bradburn, Mason Bradburn, Rodney Phillips, and Braxton Lawrence. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the members of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. The family will visit with friends at the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, Georgia on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
