William "Bill" Wade Payne, age 74, of Epworth, GA passed away August 25, 2023. He was born in McCaysville, GA to the late Lush and Nellie Payne. He was a faithful member of Mobile Baptist Church for many years. He served as member of the United States Army, in Vietnam from 1969-1971. He retired from Corrugated Replacements in Blairsville, GA. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing traveling and spending time with his family and church family. He was proceeded in death by his daughter-in-law Janet Payne, sister Shirley "Bunny" Fortner, brother and sister-in-law Eddie and Brenda Payne, was to be son-in-law Tony Lynn Sims, brother-in-law Billy Campbell and niece Becky Clark.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 46 years Patricia Payne of the home. Son Shannon Payne of McCaysville, GA daughter and son-in-law Amanda (Jason) Bradburn of Mineral Bluff, GA and daughter Jessica Payne of Moulton, AL. Sister Willa Mae Lanham (Steve Massengale) of McCaysville, GA; sister Betty (Dan) Yarborough of Sweetwater, TN; brother-in-law James Fortner; father and mother-in-law J.C. and Margaret Lewis; sister and brother-in law Tammy (Rodney) Gibby; and sister-in-law Pam Campbell all of Blue Ridge. Grandson's Connor Payne, Heath and Gavin Bradburn, Granddaughter Alexis (Justin) Teems. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. from the Mobile Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music was provided by Jennifer Danner, Connor Payne, Edward Vest, and Jan Pelfrey. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Dale Fortner, Jason Lanham, Jon Lanham, Jason Bradburn, Trey Campbell, and Brandon Gibby. Michael Payne and Nathan Yarborough served as honorary pallbearers.
