Mr. Billy Gene Parr, affectionately know as "Bill", age 70, passed away on December 21, 2019 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Fannin County, GA, he was the son of the late James Clarence and Ruby Lucille Watkins Parr. Bill worked for a number of years as a Funeral Service Attendant and ambulance services for both Finch Funeral Home and Akins Funeral Home. He was a longtime member of the Young's Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Ann Parr of the home; two daughters, Tina (Allen) King of Morganton, GA and Karen Parr of Blue Ridge, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Sandy Parr of Lawrenceville, GA and Jerry and Afreen Parr of Gainesville, GA; one sister, Cathy Mahon of Blue Ridge, GA; three grandchildren, Isaiah Patterson, Justin Patterson and Gracie King; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Collis and Rev. Mark Huff officiating. A eulogy was given by Sandy Parr. Music was provided by Katlyn Martin and Ryan Crowder. Interment followed in the Old Cherry Log Cemetery with Rev. Terry Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: David Blackwell, Reed Blackwell, Andy Parr, Justin Patterson, Darrin Conner, Butch Anderson and Isaiah Patterson. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Andrew Parr, Coby Sawyer, Brodie Parr, Matthew Crowder, Shane Dale, Bobby Dale, Ronnie Helton, Junior Watkins, and Jerry Dailey.
