Mrs. Betty Ruth Hopkins Millsaps, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Millsaps was born on July 16, 1931 in Fannin County, GA to the late Ernest Hoke Hopkins and Elva Kendall Hopkins. She retired from Levi Strauss where she was a supervisor. She was a member of Mineral Bluff Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Millsaps. She is survived by a son, Ernest Scott Millsaps of Blue Ridge; daughter, Debbie Chapman of Blue Ridge; brother, Jimmy Hopkins of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, James Chapman, April Chapman, Dawson Millsaps, Rachel Nicholson, and Michael Odom; great grandchildren, Brittany Odom, Haley Odom, Cheyenne Chapman, and Sierra Chapman; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Music was by Beverly Thompson. Pallbearers were Junior Deal, Devan Morris, Damon Morris, Jeff Dockery, Jimmy Frank Hopkins, and Tommy Panter. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park.
