Betty lived an amazing life, being very involved with her family, friends, and in her faith. Her family started the Local 859 I.A.T.S.E. Wardrobe Union in Atlanta, Georgia during the 1950's, and she worked as a dresser and later, wardrobe supervisor for 40 years. During that time, she worked frequently at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, the Atlanta Civic Center, and the Atlanta Ballet and Opera. Later in her career, she traveled with many theatrical productions throughout the nation. She also worked with people through the entertainment industry including musical acts like Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, N'Sync, Aerosmith, and many more. On the home front, she was a mother to two sons that she adored, Chris and Josh. Betty was extremely creative having also had a multi-year career in the graphic arts industry designing check the "old-fashioned way", prior to computer design, for companies like Coca-Cola. Her creativity didn't stop there as she loved making little gifts for people whenever she was at home, and she continued to do so through the last months of her life.

Betty was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church for many years in Georgia until moving to Turtletown a few years ago. Then, she became a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, where her son, Chris, and husband, Daryl, still attend.
