Obituary

Mrs. Betty Fenton Harper, 83 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, TN. Mrs. Harper was born on March 3, 1930 in Grafton, WV to the late Melvin S. Fenton and Margaret Gertrude Pritchard Fenton. She worked as a clerk for Williamson's 5 & 10 Store in McCaysville and was a member of Kingtown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Iran Ray Harper and a brother, Herbert Fenton.She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Harper German and the late H. Wade German of Decatur, AL, Beverly Harper Godfrey and Marty Godfrey of Blairsville, GA and Sandi Harper York and Tom York of Murphy, NC; brothers, Melvin Fenton, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA and Ronnie Fenton of Loganville, GA; sisters Agatha Fenton Hicks of Smyrna, GA and Carol Fenton Jackson of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, Ken German of Prattville, AL, Craig German of Decatur, AL, Jill Kendall of Blue Ridge, GA and Cami York Ledford of Blue Ridge, GA and eleven great grandchildren.Funeral services were Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Terry Callihan, and Rev. Gary Parris officiating. Music was by granddaughter, Cami York Ledford, great grandchildren, Donnie Kendall and Tammie Mason. Pallbearers were Ken German, Craig German, Donnie Kendall, Phillip Ledford, Dr. Chris Jabley, Chandler Kendall and Jody Cook. Interment followed in Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
