Betty Jean Griffith, age 77, of Westland, Michigan, passed away on January 26, 2026.

Born on April 4, 1948, in McCaysville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Edgar William Henson and Ellar Lou Bryson Henson.

Betty Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Dean Griffith; and siblings, Herman Henson, Lucille Arp, Harley Henson, Louise Cole, Opal Courtney, and James Henson.

She is survived by her son, James Griffith; daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Joe Griffith-Wrone; grandchildren, Nathaniel Griffith-Wrone, Gabriel Griffith-Wrone, Michael Griffith-Wrone, and Daniel Griffith-Wrone; brother-in-law, Gene (Brenda) Griffith; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. from New Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Housley officiating. Interment followed in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visited with friends at the church on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
