Mrs. Betty Lucinda Driskell, age 94, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, TN. Mrs. Driskell was born on January 31, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a beloved spouse, parent, and friend as well as a life time member of Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. Driskell was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Reynolds; her first husband Thomas Smith Jr., and their son Andrew Smith; current husband Jack Driskell; and two sisters, Harriett Chambers and Marion Sowers.She is survived by her son William Smith of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Larry Blakely of Vienna, VA; step-son and daughter-in-law Danny and Sharon Driskell of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Drew Smith, David Smith, Paul Smith, Megan Smith, Josh Blakely, Daniel Blakely, Nate Blakely, Michael Driskell; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Betty's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel.
