Betty Jean Delaney, 82, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Betty was born on December 14, 1943, in Mineral Bluff to the late John and Lona Dye Poe. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff and a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and were truly the light of her life.

Betty dedicated nineteen years to McDonald's, where she worked her way to becoming a manager before retiring. Outside of work, she found joy in tending to her flower gardens and preparing meals for her family and friends. Betty had a warm and welcoming spirit and never met a stranger.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Michael Delaney Sr.; brothers, John Poe and Gary Poe; and brother-in-law, Donnie Cochran.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Delaney; grandchildren, Dakota Delaney, Cheyenne Delaney, and Dylan Delaney; siblings, Lowell (Vickie) Poe, Brenda (Keith) Barnes, Keith (Darlene) Poe, and Nancy Cochran; sisters-in-law, Sharon Baker, Geri Craft, and Carol Poe; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mineral Bluff, Georgia.
